Be Better Not Bitter
Be Better not bitter
One Thought for you to consider:
Life is full of choices. Sometimes, we are faced with situations that make us question whether we should strive to be better or let bitterness consume us. It is in these moments that we truly discover our character and what we are capable of. The path of improvement can be challenging, but it also offers the greatest rewards. Choosing to be better allows us to grow, learn, and become the best version of ourselves. On the other hand, falling victim to bitterness only breeds negativity and holds us back from reaching our full potential. So, let us always choose to be better, to rise above the challenges and embrace the opportunities for growth. By doing so, we can create a life filled with joy, fulfillment, and purpose.
When faced with a choice of being better or being better try the following:
Acknowledge your feelings - Your feelings are real, don’t try to tell yourself they aren’t. Allow yourself to feel disappointment. It's okay to be upset, frustrated, or sad. Acknowledging your emotions is the first step towards healing.
Give yourself some time- Time is a great healer. Don't rush the process of overcoming disappointment. Allow yourself the necessary time to process your emotions and thoughts.
Reflect on the situation- Take some time to reflect on what happened. Understand the factors that led to the disappointment. Was is within your control? What could you have done differently? Use this as a learning opportunity.
And then Bounce Back!! Bouncing back from disappointment involves taking concrete steps to move forward and regain a positive momentum in your life. Here are some specific actions you can take to bounce back: Set new goals for yourself, create an action plan, have a short term memory and establish a support system; Life is too hard to do it alone.
Two Quotes from Dr. Bishop:
“Life will sometimes make you choose to Be Better or Be bitter! Choose wisely!”
“Being Positive is not naivety. It is making the choice to focus on what you can control (your outlook) when unfortunate situations arise.”
